This 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Super Snake convertible was purchased new by the previous owner and subsequently modified by Shelby Automobiles of Las Vegas, Nevada. The Shelby 427 appearance package was ordered, which commemorated the 2009 Shelby 427 NASCAR race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The car is powered by a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 paired with a six-speed manual transmission and is finished in Torch Red over Dark Charcoal leather. Equipment includes a limited-slip differential, Shelby 20″ forged alloy wheels, Baer brakes with six-piston calipers, a functional scoop fiberglass hood, a black soft top, a carbon-fiber front splitter, Eibach coilovers, navigation, cruise control, air conditioning, a Shaker 500 sound system, and a CD stereo. The Shelby Super Snake package added a fiberglass hood with pins, sequential taillights, side scoops, front and rear brake ducts, a carbon-fiber front splitter and rocker panels, and special badging. The front seat headrests are embossed with the Shelby Super Snake logo. The Shelby 427-embroidered headrests, Shelby 427-embossed floor mats, and the Super Snake sill plates are included in the sale. The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline as well as gauges for coolant temperature, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 11k miles. Boost, fuel pressure, and oil pressure gauges are mounted above the center stack. Serialized plaques on the dashboard and in the engine bay identify this Super Snake as CSM number 08SS0023.
The supercharged 5.4-liter DOHC V8 was fitted with a Ford Racing supercharger by Shelby Automobiles and factory rated at 600 horsepower. The oil was changed , new brakes and rotors were added in preparation for the sale .Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec six-speed manual transmission fitted with a short-throw shifter and a limited-slip differential with a 3.73:1 gear ratio. The clutch was replaced in August 2018.
