1964 Ford Thunderbird Convertible

This 1964 Ford Thunderbird convertible was originally delivered to Francis Motor Car Co. in Portland, Oregon, and spent time in California before being acquired by WCDM in Sept 2022. It is powered by a freshly tuned 390ci V8 paired with a newly rebuilt three-speed Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission and is finished in black over red vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes a power-operated white soft top, a rear-seat tonneau cover, chrome bumpers, a faux hood scoop, power windows, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a push-button AM/FM radio. This Thunderbird is offered with an invoice sheet, partial service records, rear fender skirts, and a clean BC Registration. The car was finished from the factory in Raven Black and was repainted during previous ownership.

Features include a power-operated white soft top, a rear-seat tonneau cover, chrome bumpers, and a faux hood scoop. WCDM notes that paint chips and scratches are visible around the car. Reproduction 14″ wire wheels feature three-eared spinners and are wrapped in whitewall tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted drums at all four corners. The front bucket seats were reupholstered in red vinyl in June 2022 and replacement seat foam was installed at that time. Equipment includes a power driver’s seat, a center console, power windows, a heater, Thunderbird-branded rubber floor mats, and a push-button AM/FM radio. The left-front window regulator was replaced in 2018. The two-spoke steering wheel wears an aftermarket wrap and has a Thunderbird-logo horn button. Instrumentation includes a horizontal 120-mph speedometer as well as gauges for oil pressure, fuel level, coolant temperature, and amperage. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 46k miles. Total mileage is unknown.

The freshly tuned 390ci V8 is equipped with a bronze-finished air intake cover and valve covers as well as an electronic distributor. A new carburetor was installed, most gaskets have been replaced, The oil was changed in July 2022. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Freshly rebuilt three-speed Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission. New front ball joints were recently installed, a front end alignment was just completed.
