This 1970 Maserati Ghibli is one of 1,170 coupes manufactured during six years of production and is among 779 examples built with power from a 4.7-liter quad-cam V8. The car is finished in red over tan leather upholstery and features a five-speed manual transmission, pop-up headlights, 15″ Campagnolo wheels, power windows, and an adjustable steering column. Service performed within the past 3k kilometers included the installation of a new clutch slave cylinder and valve cover gaskets in addition to a rebuild of the alternator. This Ghibli was purchased by WCDM from its previous owner of 29 years in 2022, and it is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, service records, and clean BC Registration. Introduced at the 1966 Turin Motor Show, the Ghibli was styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro during his time at Carrozzeria Ghia.
This example is finished in red and features a chrome rear bumper, a retractable antenna, a heated rear window, dual locking fuel doors, a driver-side mirror, fender vents, and pop-up headlights. The 15″ Campagnolo wheels wear chrome hubcaps and are mounted with 215/70 and 205/70 Michelin XWX tires showing 2007 and 2009 date codes. A matching spare wheel with a Pirelli tire is mounted beneath the trunk floor. The suspension features a coil-sprung double-wishbone front setup with a leaf-sprung solid rear axle. The F.I.V. wood-rimmed steering wheel is mounted on an adjustable column ahead of Veglia Borletti instrumentation including a 300-km/h speedometer, a tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline, and an oil pressure gauge. Instruments in the center of the dash include a clock and gauges monitoring amperage, coolant temperature, oil temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows under 63k kilometers . The 4.7-liter Tipo AM115 V8 features an aluminum block and cylinder heads, dual overhead camshafts on each cylinder bank, dry-sump lubrication, quad Weber carburetors, and four-into-one exhaust headers. Output was factory rated at 330 horsepower at 6,000 rpm. Service performed within the past 3k kilometers included the installation of replacement valve cover gaskets along with a rebuild of the alternator, a coolant flush, and an oil change. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. The differential was rebuilt in November 2017, and a replacement clutch master cylinder was installed in June 2021. Fresh fluids for the transmission and differential were added at that time, and the exhaust system was also replaced.
