2000 Indian Chief

This 2000 Indian Chief was purchased new by the previous owner at Indian Motorcycle Corona of Corona, California, and it was subsequently fitted with replacement black bodywork from a same-color and -model Chief that had previously been custom-painted with a headdress, a headdress logo, and desert murals. The bike is powered by an 88ci S&S Cycle Super Stock V-twin paired with a five-speed transmission and features Corbin solo and pillion seats, a clear windscreen, disc brakes, an S&S Super E carburetor, an electric starter, a drive belt, and brightwork that includes the fork, headlamp cowl, spotlights, headdress light, air cleaner cover, and two-into-one exhaust system with a fishtail muffler. Service in 2022 included cleaning the carburetor, cleaning and sealing the fuel tank, and changing the engine and transmission oils and filters. This Chief is now offered by WCDM with service manuals, purchase records, an invoice for the custom-painted bodywork, a period magazine ad, a battery charger, and a clean BC registration. The bike is finished in black and features custom freehand airbrushed artwork by Art Garcia of Orange County, California, in the same style as that from a Franklin Mint Precision Model of a 1948 Indian Chief. Two-sided designs include a front-fender headdress, a fuel-tank headdress logo, and a rear-fender desert mural. The bike features a skirted and fringed Corbin solo saddle with silver nailhead trim and a matching pillion seat as well as a front-fender headdress light and chrome embellisher. Additional equipment includes a five-gallon fuel tank, skirted fenders with chrome moldings, a chrome headlamp cowl, a dual spotlight assembly, an aftermarket clear windscreen, dual mirrors, a chrome oil tank, footboards, folding passenger foot pegs, and a side stand. The fuel tank was cleaned and sealed in 2022. Chrome wire-spoke wheels are mounted with MT90-16″ Maxxis Classic whitewall tires. Suspension is handled by a chrome shrouded telescopic fork as well as a hidden monoshock mounted to the swingarm. Braking is from four-piston billet calipers over single drilled discs at both ends.A teardrop-shaped chrome dashboard situated between chrome filler caps atop the fuel tank houses a branded 120-mph speedometer and a five-digit odometer showing 1,400 miles as well as a row of indicator lights for turn signals, oil pressure, high beam, and neutral gear selection.The air-cooled 88ci S&S Cycle Super Stock V-twin was rated at 75 horsepower when new and features an S&S Super E carburetor, a chrome headdress air cleaner cover, an electronic ignition module, an electric starter, and a chrome two-into-one exhaust system with a fishtail muffler. Service in 2022 included cleaning the carburetor and changing the engine and transmission oils and filters.Power is sent to the rear wheel through a five-speed gearbox and a drive belt. A new battery was recently added.
