Overview

This 1967 Jaguar XKE, originally sold in California and later relocated to the Midwest USA, underwent a transformative restoration after being purchased by its last owner in September 2013. Initially acquired as a partially-refurbished project, the car now stands as a meticulous example, adhering to the exacting standards of the Jaguar Club of America Concours d'Elegance.

Cloaked in a sophisticated black exterior with a rejuvenated grey leather interior, the comprehensive refurbishment included the installation of a new convertible top and frame. The dashboard, instrument panel, A pillars, shift tower, door sills, striker plates, and vents were meticulously refinished, elevating the car's aesthetic appeal.

Under the hood, the 4.2-liter 6-cylinder engine boasts a mere 570 miles since its thorough reconstruction. The accompanying rebuilt four-speed manual transmission and rebuilt differential contribute to the vehicle's impressive performance. Noteworthy features comprise triple SU carburetors, rebuilt rack-and-pinion steering, four-wheel disc brakes, and 15″ center-lock wire wheels.

The documentation for this Jaguar XKE is as thorough as its restoration, including detailed refurbishment records, photographs, a tool set, jack, Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, and a clean BC Registration. Originally finished in Primrose Yellow, the car now sports a sleek black exterior, enhanced by chrome bumpers with guards, headlight covers, a louvered clamshell hood, and a freshly installed exhaust system with dual center-exit outlets.

Inside the cabin, the fresh Dove Grey leather upholstery, matched with Hardura panels and black rubber mats, creates a luxurious and comfortable space. The array of amenities includes front bucket seats, an adjustable steering column, glove box, passenger-side grab handle, padded center armrest, and a British Leyland AM radio operated by push buttons. The re-finished wood-rimmed steering wheel presides over a refurbished Smiths speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, fuel level, and amperage.

The meticulous rebuild of the 4.2-liter inline-six engine, performed by European Auto Specialists in Cincinnati, Ohio, encompassed every detail from the block to the pistons. A body refresh in January 2014 added the finishing touches, enhancing both aesthetics and functionality, with specific attention paid to the engine compartment, Bonnet, doors, trunk interior.

This Jaguar XKE was not merely restored; it underwent a comprehensive mechanical, interior, undercarriage, and body restoration, setting it apart as a benchmark of excellence. Its participation in the Jaguar Clubs of America July 2018 JAGIN Concours d'Elegance attests to its perfection, as it garnered a flawless score of 1000. The accompanying Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate provides valuable insights into the car's heritage, detailing its manufacture date of July 12th, 1967, distribution through Jaguar Cars of New York, and the original factory serial numbers and colors.
