This 1939 Chevrolet master Deluxe 2-door sedan street rod looks much sleeker than your average 39 Chevy sedan thanks to a 2.5 inch chopped top and slanted A pillars. Much of the body has been smoothed to further the sleekness and the lowered stance also adds to the effect as do the low-profile Z- rated tires. A Chevrolet small-block 400-cu in V8 power this 39 Chevy. It has an aluminum Holley intake manifold, four-barrel carburetor, MSD ignition system, cast iron exhaust manifolds, chrome dress-up items, and an electric fan for the radiator. The engine starts up with no pumps and idles nicely. The Turbo Hydra-Matic 350 three-speed automatic shifts smoothly.
The most noticeable exterior change to this 39 Chev is the chopped top. The all-steel body was clean with no rust before the paint and bodywork were done. The fenders were molded to the body, the headlights were frenched, the rear pan was rolled, the license plates brackets are electrically operated, the trunk and door handles were shaved, the running boards are smooth, and a 3rd brake light was added, the bumpers were jettisoned, custom turn signals were molded into the front vallance, the hood was made into a side-hinged one-piece unit, the gas filler door was smooth-mounted into the right rear fender, and small aero mirrors were added. The bright blue pearl paint condition is 8.5 out of 10. The windshield has been vee'd and the glass and seals are all in great shape.
The six-way power bucket seats are full leather and in excellent condition as is the headliner, carpet, and trunk. The car has working heat and air conditioning from Vintage Air. All the VDO gauges work as they should, and the odometer shows 31000 miles, there is a newer JVC AM/FM/CD audio system in the glovebox. The car has power windows and locks and a tilt steering column with a billet steering wheel. Custom neon lights were installed under the seats and in the trunk for nighttime shows.
The car is equipped with power steering and a new steering box was installed last year, there is no play in the steering wheel. The shocks and bushings are in good condition and the brakes are new with front discs and rear drums. The 17-inch wheels are from American Racing and the Nitro front tires are size 225/45ZR17 with 2008 date codes and the rears are 255/50ZR17 with 73YX DOT codes.
